Wine trail Weinfelden

Right through the vineyards

The nine-kilometre circular trail leads through the vineyards of Weinfelden, Boltshausen and Ottoberg and can easily be completed in three hours. Time and again, hikers are treated to sweeping views of the Thur Valley and the Alps. Along the way, more than 30 information boards provide interesting facts about vine development and varieties, wine production and local winegrowers. Along the way, restaurants and pubs offer Thurgau specialities.

Cracking the code to the wine safe

The special highlight on the trail is two wine safes where hikers can quench their thirst. If you enter a code at the first one, the safe opens and a hydraulic pump lifts the noble drops from the cooling depths to eye level. The equipment, including glass, bread to nibble on and the code, can be found in the practical wine backpack. You can get this from us at the reception.
